Uber 'Uber' & Uber National Day

I popped by a club called 'Uber' in my surburb a couple of days back. The ratio between asians and ang mohs were like 1:1000, so i was a minority of the minority. The entry was free and the drinks were dirt cheap! The music was not that bad but i really like the posh interior. It's pretty odd to have this kind of club in a surburb and not in the city.

The Singapore Students Association had organized a gathering for Singapore students here to watch the live screening of NDP over at one of the theatre halls in QUT. The whole place was littered with (almost) every known Singaporean who have left for Brisbane in search of a better future, or are just sick of Singapore basically. It felt really weird i don't know. After being served crappy 'local fare' and minute chicken wings, we all crammed into the hall to view the parade via webcast. This year's show I must say is the best i've seen so far. They featured the navy for the 1st time i think, taking advantage of the new site. Both the water and aerial display were amazing. Watching the NDP brought a flood of memories and emotions, when i was a participant in Sec 2, and mostly when i was serving the army. It was just a year ago where my formation was the main organizer and all of us had to be involved. It was a trying time, but looking back it was definitely memorable, both good and bad. I can't believe a year ago i was still in green doing things i won't ever thought i would be doing, and now i have ORD-ed, and in university. It all seems like yesterday...
